Sometimes change is scary. Sometimes it is exactly what your company needs. This is where Keen Communications finds itself today after a reorganization of our marketing team.
Last month Keen moved its marketing efforts to our Birmingham, Alabama, office and this week we are announcing two new hires to help drive the growth of our books, authors, and brands. We know you’ll be excited too, once you meet them.
First up is Lilane Opsomer who is spearheading our marketing and media relations efforts. She spent more than 20 years with the Tourist Office for Flanders, Belgium in New York as deputy director and head of media relations. She is a member of the Society of American Travel Writers and Public Relations Society of America. She’s also co-author of Keen’s annual Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World with Kids and has a thriving freelance writing career in support of that work.
Liliane says, “Thrilled to work surrounded by great books. What could be better than that?”
Liliane will focus on our Unofficial Guide series as well as handling press for Clerisy Press. As a published Unofficial Guide author herself, Liliane knows what it takes to make a book successful. You can contact her at liliane [at] keencommunication.com or @LilianeOpsomer on Twitter.
Also joining us this month is Tanya Sylvan, who is heading up Keen’s content and social media marketing efforts for our outdoor/travel imprints Menasha Ridge Press and Wilderness Press. Tanya is just as comfortable (and energetic) online as out on the trail.
Her new role and responsibilities seem to fit well.
“I am so excited to be working for Keen! Now I can say that I really do eat, sleep, and breathe all things outdoors!”, said Tanya.
Tanya comes to Keen with years of experience in email marketing and online brand building. She will continue to do what she does so well—promote active lifestyles and travel destinations—all while growing Keen’s online presence. You can reach Tanya at tanya [at] keencommunication.com or @trekalong on Twitter.
